A six cup hand thrown earthenware teapot. Dark blue and black clay were sponged over the surface. The teapot was then glazed with a transparent teal glaze. Tea always tastes better steeped in a clay pot.

Made in our Mahone Bay studio using a local earthenware clay. The brown clay is covered with a white liquid clay or slip. The sponged decoration is then applied while the piece is still damp, using colored clay slips. The teapot is fired once then covered with a transparent teal glaze and fired a second time.
