A jardiniere made to fit a standard 3” flower pot. Dark blue clay was sponged over a white clay slip, then glazed with a transparent turqouise glaze. It is made with a local Nova Scotian clay and thrown, decorated and fired in our Mahone Bay studio.
The brown earthenware clay was covered with a white clay slip, the iris was brushed on with coloured slips all before the piece was fired. It was bisque fired then glazed with a transparent glaze and fired a second time. A great way to dress up those 3” green plastic flower pots.
